Asking for luck as I will be starting my 10 day detox soon.
I have been in to see a dietitian and to have a hormone saliva test done as I have experienced some bodily changes and some issues that I wanted to address.
As per test results: I do have a slight excess in the hormone department and some inflammatory issues. Causing me to need a metabolic detox.
My take away is this: Metabolic detoxification ; here it refers to a specific metabolic pathway, active throughout the human body, that processes unwanted chemicals for elimination. This pathway (which will be referred to as metabolic detoxification) involves a series of enzymatic reactions that neutralize and solubilize toxins, and transport them to secretory organs (like the liver or kidneys), so that they can be excreted from the body. This type of detoxification is sometimes called xenobiotic metabolism, because it is the primary mechanism for ridding the body of xenobiotics (foreign chemicals)
Excess hormones, vitamins, inflammatory molecules, and signaling compounds, amongst others, are typically eliminated from the body by the same enzymatic detoxification systems that protect the body from environmental toxins, or clear prescription drugs from circulation. Metabolic detoxification reactions, therefore, are not only important for protection from the environment, but central to homeostatic balance in the body.
This is alternative medicine. It is used to help remove toxins that have been giving me issues causing a spiral of problems.Detoxification therapy is used to try and help with the things I have been suffering from allergies or immune system problems that conventional medicine is unable to diagnose or treat, including chronic fatigue syndrome, environmental illness. Other symptoms I have had include unexplained fatigue, increased allergies, hypersensitivity to common materials, intolerance to certain foods and indigestion, aches and pains, low grade fever, headaches, insomnia, depression, sore throats, sudden weight gain, lowered resistance to infection, general malaise, and irritability. It’s basically a begining to a lifestyle change because my body needs to heal from all the sickness & inflammation it’s been fighting so hard for the past year.
