I recently attended a leaky gut webinar and found much of what they spoke of very interesting. I took lots of notes and wanted to share some valid points with you. Because, if you are like me, you might have more going on than just diverticulitis. And that means you might be a tough case to figure out. I am going to post the things they talked about in the 70 minute webinar.

Although I have not been “diagnosed” with leaky gut, some recent discoveries about the things I found in my past blood work, and the symptoms that I have been experiencing, this seems like it may be a fit with my diverticulitis. And since I do tend to want to use food as an ally and self heal, this seemed like something that was beneficial to me. I now know the things I need to do to try and clean up my messy insides.
Notes from the Leaky Gut and Reversing Chronic Illness Webinar that I took:
No doctor is ever going to be as concerned about your health as YOU!
Your body will always give you signs and will eventually SCREAM at you when something is wrong. Always listen to your body
Leaky gut is when toxins/ undigested foods/ chemicals leak into your body causing damage, overworking your immune system. This will cascade into poor body symptoms such as: inflammation, and weak links that will speed up or onset genetic based diseases.
Doctors have known about leaky gut since the 1980’s, but there is no drug for this.
The key to feeling better is to remove the problems, heal, then turn off the immune system that has been working overtime.
ALL DISEASE BEGINS IN THE GUT!!
Leaky gut quiz: check all that apply

Work with a skilled practitioner to solve your gut issues. GI problems are the #1 cause of health issues!
http://www.fixmygutnow.com is the website they offered to get a 60 day personalized plan, but that is almost $400….so I am going to try this on my own with a Paleo style diet and see if that helps me along with enzymes. In my blood work I was showing YEARS or vitamin and protein deficiency and malabsorption. I had digestive problems for over a decade. They say for every year you are sick, it takes 6 months per year to heal. So that means, I would have to work at this and hopefully with the right diet, supplements, and exercise be free from all the pain, inconvenience, problems, and fatigue in 5 years. Ugh~ every journey starts somewhere, so I guess now is a good a time as any….I will keep you posted, as always.
